Ok, caught a bit of Corbett yesterday and, as expected, it was all about how we SHOULDN'T blame blacks for all the violence at Sherman Hills. I disagree; in fact, I'm a fan of profiling. Just as you would look more closely at someone from Pakistan or Iran than an Irish-American woman from Milwaukee in our war on terrorism, I think that if you profile whatever segment of the world is most responsible for criminal activity, it's not only not wrong, it makes a world of sense. So if "Shai" and all the other players in the incomprehensible Sherman Hllls story -- someone coming in back door sees someone leaving front door and in no time shots ring out and two kids are injured -- are African-American and if a preponderance of those responsible for the rest of the tsunami of crime are also black, then it makes sense to focus police activity on that segment of the population. Just as my forefathers -- Italian-Americans -- were profiled when looking for Mafia gang members, IT JUST MAKES SENSE. Now we're at the point where Corbett yesterday said he wouldn't use the "n word" even in Muhammad Ali's famous quote where he did. Talk about style over substance. I don't care if you want to call me wop, or dago or greaser. I'd consider the source. This namby-pamby bullshit is just that, buillshit. When polite language takes precedence over stopping criminal activity, we all lose.
