The Times Leader should have followed the Press Enterprise and become accessible by subscription-only (which I suggested to Mr. Butkiewicz as early as 2008, when I lived in another city, and continued to suggest to its Tech Editor until this past spring). If the paper remained true to its deserved reputation gained after Michael Moore's "Capitalism" and covered stories its competitor wouldn't, perhaps the sarcasm about it being a sinking ship wouldn't seem true. At one time, not long ago, it was a dignified throwback to a time when this area wasn't the stinking armpit of the eastern seaboard.
